Post by: duaneyb1 on 01 August 2010, 17:53:23
hello guys have had problems with temperature rising to 100 and over.(not losing any coolent no loss of power no misfire no mayo in oil top up or dip. block test done came back all clear)
I have done a rad flush strong chemical loads of crap came out. Changed the thermostat and the hbv the water pump is new the previous owner changed it although its not the genuine part he also had the coolent hoses changed.
my heater doesnt blow hot and iam just wondering if the hoses have been put on in the correct order. Could this cause the heating prob? any ideas?
does any one have a diagram for the hoses?

Mine overheated just as yours did and I did everything you did too.
Problem was solved when I changed the coolant radiator. I ripped it apart and found that even though I had Radflushed it 3 times the cores were still partially blocked with crap.
Have you tested the temperature sensor is working correctly - they can give false readings. If you are not losing any coolant and the hoses are not under undue pressure than that is where I would look. Its on the top of the V, at the rear and under the Plenum. F*rty job but worth a check.
Oh yeah! After changing the main rad I changed the heater matrix, thermostat and ABV too for good measure.

The temp sensor is spot on.
Was thinking about changing the rad next so what you said about having the same problem has made up my mind.
Many thanks for your advice will let you know how it goes  :y
