I'm doing my rocker cover gaskets at the weekend.
When I apply the (black) RTV, roughly how long do I have between squeezing it out of the tube, and it starting to go off?

Long enough to fit them don't worry. With cable tray pre tied up out the way and well cleaned heads just apply and fit with seals pre fitted to the covers. I suppose 20 mins to half an hour before it thinks about setting. So by the time it's re built you could drive it I guess? Although I left mine overnight, I was knackered. ;D

It's not so much the curing time post fitting I'm thinking of, it's the time between applying it to the mating faces and it starting to go off. Some really quick setting sealants require you to work quite fast - I was wondering if this is one of them.

You have approx. 20 minutes before a skin starts to form Gary :y
