I've just been told by the local dealer that Vauxhall no longer manufacture the expansion tank that I need to solve the coolant warning I have on my 2002 2.6V6, the only available source of supply being a pattern part manufacturer. Can it really be that Vauxhall no longer support spares for a 8 year old car and can anyone vouch for the quality of the alternative. Thanks in anticipation Keith.

I know of many people, if its been discontinued (which I doubt) then its only just happened.

I've PM Keith but i'll also share it with the rest of the forum.
HIS DEALER IS TALKING B*&%^$S
There are 77 in stock at Vauxhall's and trade for arounf £26.00 + VAT

Andyc identified 77 of these items at Vauxhall. Local dealer backpeddled and 1 now on order. So problem solved. Thanks folks this forum is brilliant.

like to know what they said Keith?

They were a little cagey but said they had initially confused the request with the level sensor which was unavailable separately. They are sourcing the part through a third party but it is a genuine Vauxhall part from another Vauxhall dealer.
