whats the pedal trick and how does it help ??

Built in self diagnostic.

Electrical faults are recorded in the engine ecu as an error code, the pedal trick was included in the design to allow diagnosis in cheeper countries that likely could not afford tech 2.

Diagnosis would be impossible with out one or the other.
