Question as per title really.
I was thinking of upgrading to 18" wheels and BMWs have the same 120mm stud pattern right? So I assume there's no real reason I can't grab some used 18s off a BMW, bolt them on and cruise away...
Anyone done this? Any issues with offset or whatever?

Thought Omega were 110mm PCD
There was a thread regarding 112mm PCD wheels not fitting the other day, so BMW ones dont stand a chance. :-/
-
Omegas are 5 x 110 :y
-
OK thats cleared that little misunderstanding up then.
:-[ :-X
Cheers.
I'll keep an eye out if any Omega standard wheels take my fancy then. MV6 have a nice 5 spoke IIRC? I'm not much taken by the CDX alloys

MV6 wheels buckle very easily but look nice.

Pre FL ones might, the FL ones certainly don't! ;)
To help with the original question, you can get wheel adaptors from DTMotorsport in Essex.
Got some on my Carlton, as the AZEVs are 5 x 112. :y

No offence mate, but why would you want to put BMW wheels on your Omega??

if the pattern suits....

Why indeed....?

looking thru the gallery there are many imaginitive ideas that i and others may not of thought of, newbie or not.
some get a thumbs up, others not so.
if you dont try, you will never know..

I'm a traditionalist when it comes to cars, changing anything that is not in the original Spec just de-values a car in my opinion.
I don't know who designed the Omega, likely many different people, but to me they really got it right and it works 100% for me.
But I guess others like to tamper with their Omegas and thats fine also..

Indeed, but my personal concern is the BMW association that may go with it. Each to their own though as you so rightly imply. :y

reason: BMW have some nice styled roadwheels on some of their later model cars. I don't much like the wheels on the CDX. They aren't offensive or anything, there are just much nicer looking wheels out there. Plus there's a place by work sells 2nd hand alloys and they have tons of BMW ones in...
As for devaluing the car
1. the stock wheels can always go back on at resale time
2. a ten year old Vauxhall isn't exactly an "investment"... Its one step up from "disposable".
I haven't seen the gallery, so I shall go have a look and see what else people have got on theirs.
I would rather avoid having to run adaptors.
I'm not prepared to spend the money to buy new alloys special ordered in the correct pattern, so its about what I can pick up second hand.

Some of the Saab's have the same stud pattern too :y
But what ever other wheels that you can find with the same stud pattern, or using something near and using adaptor bolts if it's 1-2mm out. Don't forget to take into account the offset measurement to, as you need to get near the same as per original spec wheels, so you don't catch the wheel arch or parts of the suspension.
Hope that helps ? :y

unfortunately 5x110 wheel alternatives not too many like 5x120..
metal machining shops may help imo..I did a bit research before and they can prepare something instead..
then you can use 5x120..
but cant estimate the price for there..
ps also there are pcd adapters..

that dont half sound like Akku!!!? RR rules :y

If BMW wheels fitted Im sure The Boy would have fitted a set to his Mig by now. :y :D ;D ;D

Alistair if you want some really nice genuine GM F/L mv6 wheels have a look at my 2 topics in the parts for sale board on July 16,one has the spec other the pics. It's just not true these distort easily. These wheels are embossed "made in Germany" and I know are virtually bomb proof, I ran on them for nearly 3 Yrs with no trouble,PM me if your interested

blimey this forum moves quick. A couple of days and threads are way back. Anyway, thanks for the info so far. Offset seems to be an issue using non-stock wheels (as most will be for FWD cars) so I'm left with spacers, wobble bolts, adapters and so forth. None of which I really want to mess with.
Best option would be to find a set of wheels the right offset and get them (professionally) redrilled to 5x110mm or use a set of MV6 or similar rims.
I fancy something which are like a BBS split rim.
