how often should i change the spark plugs of my car ??
Its a 2002 model, and i havent got them changed even once !!
Would it affect the performance of my car ??
-
You have had the car from new? :o
8 Years without a plug change! Thats not the worst I've seen, but you will definitely benefit from a plug change.
I'm wondering if you have ever replaced the oil and filter. :-/
-
hahahahaha :D
Got the oil and filter changed the other day !!
:P
Anyway, so i guess I'll get then changed as soon as possible, ( I'm not much of a maintenance person btw :P )

I change mine every 40k. They are normally in decent condition still, but they run the risk of working loose. I think the 80k manufacturers spec. is a little optimistic, and if you have to get to them to check they are still tight, might as well replace.

i thought it was forty myself.
thats some going for a spark plug if thats adhered too.
40k saves on ths stress on the coils.

I recently changed the 4 electrode plugs in my car. Can't think how many miles they've done, but nothing like 80 000 miles, maybe 40/50k and they were goosed.

It's 80K on the later V6s where the 4 electrode plugs are specified. 40K on earlier models. :y

I have been putting it off as its a small mission to change them (removal of other things!!) on the V6 - rubbish excuse I know.. off to NGK website to see what I need.
Shame is I have 6 platinum plugs from a Merc 240 I had and rather hoped they might be compatible.. but alas not. £7 quid each too!

The GM plugs are as good as any and cheap on trade club. :y
