pool of water on passenger side from vent ???? think might have a airlock too ....will this cause a pool of water to come through vent 2.5v6 engine
-
on floor of footwell or on ground ?
-
it was on mat ...it had dripped from vent quite a lot in 20 mins prob 1 pint! i have cap off radiator and engine running at minute think poss air lock
-
just to be quite sure it is "coolant " and not rain water.
-
yes defo coolant..
top off the radiator ..... angry bubbling everywhere! computer screen said coolant level p reg omega 2.5 v6

If you are sure it is coolant then it is sounding like you have a leak from the heater matrix or 1 of the connecting pipes as it is the only part of the coolant system that is on the inside of the bulkhead..all other pipework and potential leaks are in the engine area.
Best bet is to refit the coolant header cap.Let the system fully pressurize and get the engine up to temperature then with a torch have a good look arond under the footwell trims inside.they are held in place by round black plastic twist screws and are jst undone with a dummpy flat blade screwdriver.
Also worth ensuring that the heater is still blowing out heat as that will establish that it has coolant going through it.

thanks heater is roasting

Suspect that 1 of the matrix pipes is leaking coolant ..with the trims off you should be able to see if it is wet(with a pint of water in footwell should be very clear to see leak)then atleast you have identified the source of the problem.
When that is done post back and sure you will get advise as to the cure.
Best of luck with it...where abouts are you located ??
-
havent found the leak yet.....seems to of stopped , had engine running for an hour to try and clear the airlock....im in CHESTER ...ty 4 your help so far

Heater matrix pipes are on (UK) drivers side, so for coolant to be getting to the passenger side, I'd think the matrix itself must be squirting coolant, and airflow carrying it towards vent(s). :'(
-
is it a expensive job if its the heater matrix ?????
-
Genuine Vx matrix isn't cheap; I paid about £130 a couple of years back. Have seen much cheaper ones recommended on here since then.
Lately there's some talk of Vx changing the matrix design so that you have to buy adaptor pipes, but there must be loads of 'old style' pattern matrixes around that'll fit.
It's an awkward replacement; dash out to do it 'properly', or cut a bit of the foamy plastic behind the trim locally for a 'cheat' way. There's a 'how to' on the latter method in Maintenance Guides section.
You also may/may not also wish to ask yourself whether the matrix popped (if this is the case) because of over-pressurising of the coolant, which might not be good...
PS: I know you've stated that it is definitely coolant, but humour me/us and just check that the drain near the pollen filter in N/S scuttle isn't blocked, and that there isn't a big pool of water there draining through into the cabin... ;)

Abiton.water from nearside drain was my first thought as well but op was sure it was coolant.
I would also have expected coolant to be coming out fairly !! quickly if there was about a pint of water in footwell .Possiblly split in 1 of the pipes causing coolant to squirt back over the matrix body but that would be like a water pistol .
