Hi all...
I have noticed that whenever I have been out in the Omega, when I switch off and get out, there is a massive amount of heat comes out from the exhaust and almost burns your ankles.
Swmbo has also commented about it on the passenger side.
Never noticed it on any other car. Is this normal with Omega's or is there a problem !!!!!
TIA

Normal I think, not sure about the burning part though. Notice it more lately as I'm wearing shorts to work in the warm weather.

.... Is this normal with Omega's ......
Pretty much so, it's not a little engine & the heat has to go somewhere. Wait till you turn the engine off after a long-ish run on a hot day ........ then there's loads of heat. :y :y

Have done that Andy, that is what was worrying me....the amount of heat that shoots out from under is enough to cook a BBQ.
Did not want to see my baby go up in smoke :(
But if you fellas say its normal, thats a weight off my mind. :y

Completely normal. I was camping recently and it was a cool night. Had the car running for electric and the better half warmed herself next to the car :y
Great little heater.
-
the cooling fans dont half blow it out around the front doors. normal. :y
-
That's because the main fan goes on a bit pushing the heat to your legs
-
Great stuff fellas :y
Strange how it has never been noticed on any of the other cars I have owned. Must be the underbody shape or something ??
At least it will stop swmbo giving me grief every time she gets out of the car >:(

the cooling fans stay on to cool down after youve switched off, loads of hot air so to speak. & no im not on about the wife :D
-
Plus the cats are directly inboard of the front doors.... And I'd keep her guessing if I where you, or she'll find something else to talk about... ::)

Omega B runs quite hot by design. It, therefore, needs a fairly advanced cooling system with amongst other things a two-speed fan.
the first speed cuts in relatively early, resulting in it actually running most times that you pull up to a halt. Most other cars don't do this.
