Title: HELP! I cant get in.... :-(
Post by: BobIsHere on 15 August 2010, 18:29:15
My omega elite has been parked up in my garage whilst ive been in hospital safe and sound, went today to check on it, battery was flat on the car (hardly suprising) so put the key in the door and turned it and the locks didnt undo (the button inside the car didnt lift) the car wont let me in... any clue as to how i can get in...????????

Did you try the handle after turning the key, even though the button didn't lift?
It's a firm turn of the key and the button doesn't lift but the lock disengages.

I've had that happen and found that I needed to apply quite a lot of pressure when turning the key, to the point where you think something will snap. It then made an audible 'click' at which point I could open the door (but the button stayed down as said).

Just be sure you are using the right key though!

Jumpleads onto the starter + connection and a good ground from another battery/power pack then operate the key as normal.

that makes sense give it power so + jump lead to the starter motor and negative jumplead to another battery on the negative terminal?

how easy is it to get to the starter motor as my ankle / leg is in a cast...????

Hmm I can see that being a bit of a bugger then unless you can get the car jacked up to get underneath easily.
Other option if you can get into the boot would be connect power to the boot light then pop the central locking.

Neither options are going to be easy in your situation mate.

Should open just with the key ... needs a bit of force though , almost to the point where you think the key will break  :y

As shrek and I said you will think you're going to break the key, turn it to unlock and then force it that little bit more.

Have you tried turning the key to the right and lift the handle up. This worked for me recently when my battery was falt.
