Can anyone tell me what the Offset is on my standard 16" alloys????
I am thinking of getting some 18" rims in the future but need to know what size tyres i will need (ideally) and whether or not i will need to modify the arches (especially at the front for the steering) in any way????
-
I'm running 18's on my miggy, the fronts are 8.5x18 with 225/40/18 and the rears are 10x18 with 285/40/18, and i've managed to get these on without any arch mods

I run 235/35/19 no clearance problems at all

Nice Miggy, but your brakes look a little lost behind those huge rims. No point getting bigger anchors though unless a bigger engine goes in too????

I've always said that Les :y Larger diameter wheels, especially of the wide-spoked variety, really need much larger discs to look the part.

There was once talk of a 5.7 V8 (LS1??) going into a miggy which is my idea for a race replica V8Star car (road legal).
Check out some of my older posts.

Nice Miggy, but your brakes look a little lost behind those huge rims.
imo looks more classy with original discs, oversized discs draw the attention away from the rims.. the only thing that would add to the overall effect would be high-temp red paint on calipers, especially on a white mig ;) inexpensive & easy to do :y

Easy and cheap way to make your Mig look like a Saxo. Nice! 8-)

Everyones got a nice set of rims! Good job?
I had 19's on my omega an i think the wishbone, drop link, bushes get a battering with after market alloys, after 2years of either tracking, buying tyres, or buying wishbones just gave up, an went back to originals. Or might be just my luck living in London, an dealing with speed humps/pot holes! Hope tjis helps if anyone considering alloys an lives in london!! :y
