if youve got only one key for a facelift omega, but have a spare key fob from another, can you get a blade cut and reprogram the keyfob to work with the car so that you have two keys? i seem to recall reading you can do this with tech2.
is a faceift style blank blade available from a key cutters? or is it a specialist job? i did see the following item on the 'bay and was concerned about the horseshoe plastic bit which a keycutter is unlikely to have. wondered if i could remove the blade from the spare keyfob and just put a new one in basically.

That blade comes without the chip. Find one with a chip, get it cut at a decent cutters and as long as the spare "alien" fob is the same as your original it just needs a chat with TechII.
Need one like this with chip in http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-OMEGA-TRANSPONDER-KEY-COMPLETE-CHIP-/190406355531?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM
