Title: engine number location on a facelift. same as pre?

questions in the title really. i think im right in thinking engine number and type is near the oil filter somewhere, cant really remember how best to view this when in a hurry, and wasnt sure if its in the same place on a 3.2 facelift?

i meant from the point of view of looking at a new car, want to match the engine code to the v5... i know hotel21 posted the pic of his x30xe engine number a while back but wasnt sure if it was in same place on facelifts 3.2 engine

also, i seem to remember a 'buyers guide' on here somewhere, thought i might brush up but can't seem to find it anywhere. any ideas?!   :y
