Title: Door strap problem
Post by: Steve Brookman on 26 August 2010, 16:50:20
Just started to have difficulty opening the passenger door on the Omega. The problem seems to be with the strap mechanism inside the door-the mechanism makes a loud knock when trying to open. I've tried oil but no difference and it seems to be getting worse-any ideas/

That's because you haven't replaced the little nylon bush on the hinge (only a few pence) as soon as it started clicking.

Known as the crack of doom!

See the maintenance guides.

Have a look or feel where the mechanism goes into the door to see if the bolts are ripping through? If so you can get some plates to put it right. . :y

Thanks-I'll get the parts.

Does anyone do them on-line?

Went to dealer-no reinforcement plates until Wednesday.
Is it worth fitting the bush in the meantime?
