Title: urgent assistance required
Post by: rob in gib on 27 August 2010, 08:40:11
first let me say hi to all i have been away at sea on deliveries so have not been on in ages

anyway returned home to find oil in the expansion bottle
drained and flushed the cooling system went on a short run and all went wrong

more oil in coolant radiator blew a hole in the plastic end cap

so i think i should be pulling both heads off

but is there something else i should be checking first like the oil cooler i believe these were fitted to the omega

here to hopeing

cheers

Check the oil cooler first as that is the most likely suspect :y

It's in the V between the heads.  You'll have to take off the plenum, inlet manifolds, coolant bridge and the oil cooler pipes to get at it.  It's worth changing the stat too while you're there.  You can change it in a day easy, flushing the coolant will take a while and you have to let the sealant kick overnight before putting the coolant back in.  :y
