Hi, I have a '99 2.5 V6 CDX thats always been extremely reliable, until yesterday that is when it decided to break down >:(. The problem I had with it was that the car just kept cutting out as I was driving along, especially at low revs, was almost like it was running out of fuel. The engine light on the dash also came on. I thought it might be the fuel pump but the recovery guy that got me home thinks it could be the idliing valve. Have you guys any ideas what could be the problem? :y

Do a paperclip test on it (see the link below) and report back with codes. It could be the IACV or you could get a 19 ;)

Best to Paperclip/Pedal Test the car and get the fault codes. :y

Thanks guys, will give it a go tomorrow and see what happens. May I ask what 19 is? or is that going to be a nasty shock for later!

Crank sensor, not to bad a job at all.

Code 19 is Crank Sensor. Piece of cake, and cheap.
IACV is even easier, and cheap too. :y
It's a good idea to update your profile and state roughly where you are in the world. You may have some members nearby who may happily assist you in person with jobs for cans of beer, curry, favours of the adult persuasion etc etc ;D

Hey broomies mate, like the sound of the beer and the adult favours, however, miggy comes first. Thanks for the advice and will get back after I have done the paperclip test tomorrow, thanks again to all
