I am in the process of fitting the sensors in the bumper, but having trouble running the cables due to the grey 'expanded rubber' that seems to almost fill the bumper. I suspect I will have to remove the bumper and make tunnels / trenches for wiring but didnt know if anyone has any better ideas?

Throw the big black foam bit away! :y

I fitted some from e-bay cost about 15 quid, still working a year later!
Had to take off the bumper. There is a place they will fit without having to alter the inside of the bumper, about 6 inches from the number plate. I only fitted 2 not 4 but they pick up everything, 4 is a waste of time imoa.

Sounds too far inboard, but I take your word for it, a pic would be handy. ::)

When I swapped the rear bumper on mine (factory fitted park sensors) the foam had channels cutinto it for the wiring and some plastic clips holding it in place.
The channels looked to be cut afterwards, not part of the original moulding.
