Title: understanding search? oil grades?

hi, as you can tell i am new to this site, i cant fathom out how to get info, i search oil and i seem to get everything but what i need to know?
i have 3litre elite is the gm 10/40w semi synthetic ok to buy for it?
it runs on gas used as a taxi and i change oil every5k its just gm's oil on the bay cheeeep.

How cheep?

If you join Autobahnstormers (£20 per year) you can get Tradeclub prices at Vauxhall dealers.

They are selling 4x5 litres for the price of 3x5 litres. IIRC it works out about £40 for 4x5 litres of 10w40.

I normally get 2x5 ltrs for £22 on the bay ... thats enough for me to have lying around at once  :y

hi guys it is £11.65 or 4 for 39, but bonus is its local so i can pick it up.
