Title: rear seat
Post by: tourette on 04 September 2010, 14:59:44
The rear seat on my estate is not locked in by any means, it just seems to be resting on the floor with two plastic hooks either side. Is this the way it is or should there be some way of fixing it down? Grateful for any help. :-?

There are 2 locking mechanisms, 1 either side of the front of the seat base that locate into 2 oblong holes on the floor under the seat. The plastic handles are the pull release for the 2 locking mechanisms.

The first couple of times I removed the rear bench, I found it 'tricky' to locate the seat base properly... there is a knack to it.  ;D

I tend to tilt the seat base under the back-rest and then 'knee' the seat base rearwards and down at the same time as pulling the release tabs forward. You can do one side at a time and move the front seats as far forward as possible to give you space.  :y

I remove the base using this method as well. :y
