Post by: ianc on 08 September 2010, 01:18:34
asked earlyer today about coil pack on 2.5 v6 got second hand one off 3.0 but didnt work, got another one off 2.5 v6 and it works, either not compatable or first coil pack was brocken ??? i didnt bother removing old one just put new one on top and connected leads,no6 lead not long enough so get a slightly longer one,all fits back together with a squeeze but can be done.got coil pack and lead from scappy for £13 car now running great, advise to keep spare cash handy for plasters and a back doctor.it was a nightmare,if you are anythink like me never messed with cars in my life, take your time and dont give up.people on this forum are a great back up,and are always there to help use there knowledge and you can save cash and alot of stress.thanks again ian. :) :) :y :y

Well done Ian. You did very well to get it going especially after the first coil pack failed to do the job.
So as I understand you are now up and running with two coil packs under the hood.   ;D ;D

Great job,  :y

if the front tyres are both the same make then it sounds as though you could do with a steering geometry check, try and jack it up first and make sure balljoints and bushes are all sound
