Hello, just bought an MV6 recently.
When looking at it I went to check the HBV. What I know to be the HBV wasn't there, yet the hoses that go through the bulk head to heater matrix went to a strange looking thing bolted to o/s wheel arch in engine bay (where cruise control is, if fitted). There is no vacuum pipe to this yet it has an electrical plug on it.
The previous owner kept this car in GRADE A1 condition, I've never seen a 10 year old car in better condition, he did alot of things himelf, but not the HBV, but it has been replaced, so he didn't know about it.
I changed the HBV on my Elite recently, but don't know what this is on the MV6.
Is it some kind of upgrade (car is totally standard), or improved part? Any ideas gratefully received. Thanks all!

Can you take some pics?
I'm guessing that the "thing" you're describing is the auxiliary pump for heat when the engine is switched off but it doesn't explain the lack of HBV :-/ :-/

Oh yeah sorry i forgot to say I'll try and get some pics up. What you say makes sense. It's dawned on me now that I should've poked my hand in a little furthert o check for "normal" HBV, instead of assuming it wasn't there when i saw this part! I'll double check.

Thanks BTW

Thats a pump which is part of the winter pack but the hbv should still be in its usual place

Thanks Pete, I had enough cuts and graze so didin't put my hand in all the way to check! Thanks for your help!

My '99 Mv6 has two electrically operated pumps fitted into the coolant system, one mounted on the back of the Radiator, and another mounted where you say, one hose goes to the h.b.v. and another goes to the matrix.

Thanks, I'll take the blindfold off my eyes and have another look!! :-/
