Title: quick query on key fob
Post by: jerry on 09 September 2010, 20:11:04
ive got an Sreg 2.5cdx and the key fob started playing up today without any prior warning so that I had difficulty in opening/locking the car. I assume its the battery in the fob as the little red light wasnt coming on as it should. Anyone know battery size and how easy they are to replace as my fob -probably through wear -doesnt show obvious signs of how to get into it! Also, when locked manually, on unlocking manually the alarm goes off which is a bit embarassing ;D Sorry to be so thick, any help much appreciated. Thanks

The batteries are CR2032, 3 volt button type. You may be better off trying the battery from your spare plip. I can't remember how to split the fob but I am sure someone on here remembers.

Remove key horse shoe - look at the gap in the back

Then pop the fob open

Jerry when you've changed the battery turn ignition on NOT engine & press'n'hold 'lock' button on the fob... all the central locking should close & re-open to confirm that the fob is correctly reset with your alarm/immob  :y
