Title: Rear track rods
Post by: Shackeng on 08 September 2010, 18:18:38
Does anyone have the part numbers for the rear track/tie rods for a '99 TD Estate please? Also any recommended types or suppliers.

Cheers :y :y :y

Seized - but may be knacked - I'm happy to replace them at nearly 100k.

Take them off, get them in a vice, apply heat and un-seize them.

Unlikely to be any play or isues with them  :y

Just done the same to mine. Heat, a well fitting spanner and a long pipe  :y :y

I would suggest applying grease to threads to prevent future seizing as well - did this to MV6 fronts when I changed them a couple of years back, now the alignment people love them :y

yes indeed... highly recommendable - had to remove caliper and apply big heat to caliper 'slider'.  Cooled down, cleaned/wire brushed, applied  copper grease...... PERFIKK !!    job done  :y :y  nice and slidey; never to be seized again  :y

Yes, I greased my front track rods when I replaced them earlier this year, so no doubt WIM will be happy, but I need to get the rear ones unseized ( is that a word?) before I go, hopefully next week.  ;) :y ::)
