Hi,
am going to do a bfc. using vx dot 4. I will be using a power bleeder not 2 person (manual). my question is do i need to follow the wheel sequence in the maint section or can i just do any wheel in any order. :-/ :-/
any help or direction much appreciated
thanks
-
yes it is better if you follow the wheel sequence ;)
-
as a general rule, do the wheel furthest from the master working closer..
-
Yep, i'd follow the guide.
The brake circuit is diagonally split so best to complete a circuit at a time.
-
so
Rear Passenger
Front Drivers
Rear Drivers
Front Passenger
even with power bleeder
thanks

I'm not sure if a simple flush will get the old fluid out of the ABS pump and valve block :-/
I think I read somewhere that Tech 2 is required to energise the ABS pump to pump the old fluid out.

If you excercise the ABS pump with a T2 whilst bleeding you certainly clear out the ABS unit at the same time.
I remember M_DTM having to do that at the Lakes meet when Mick Dundee lost his rear pads on his vented rear calipers/non vented rear discs escapade when the pistons popped out.... :o

Only really need to energise the ABS pump if you get air bubbles trapped in it, which is where I find the easi-bleed devices to be good (as long as you keep an eye on the reservoir) as they keep a positive constant pressure on the system.

Sorry, didn't mean to suggest it wasn't worth doing. Just pointing out that some of the old fluid might remain in the circuit.
