Hi all,
Thought I'd seen a guide about this somewhere - but can't find it now. :-/
Is there a knack to this or just a question of identifying all the plastic clips and poking the middles out ? Can you get these back - or are they lost for good in the box sections. Are there any hidden fixings to be aware of that need you take something else off to start with ?
I'd like to take mine off to respray/re-laquer before fitting some colour coded mud flaps.
Cheers
Ian.

I too have been thinking of removing the sill covers, to look at the damage underneath. Will rustproof if not too bad.
How do they come off please?
Mine is not showing any rust yet. Give it time though.
Also, any good rust-proofing advice would be useful. Thanks

They clip on and the end caps have the plastic pop rivet type fixings and yes the pin will vanish :(

Yes, push stud fixings on the end caps, and the ones along the underside are a press on button type affair which are hard to get off without damaging, not push through studs like the end caps. Then it's a case of prizing the skirt away without braking the white plastic clips behind.
Once removed you can get the little push through studs back... :y

Thanks gents - much appreciated - that's taken all the guesswork out of it for sure.

Yes, thanks from me too.
Are omega's prone to rusting of the sills, under the plastic ones that is?
I notice a lot have some by the rear wheel arch.
Cheers.

i am also looking to take mine off soon as I have some rust on the rear arches where the rear doors close against it and it folds round into the rear wheel arch. Does anybody have the link to the how2 or some idiot guide photos? I have already pulled off a clip holding the door seal to the body above the arch!
