Title: All 3.0 water pumps the same?

So I'm on yet another money saving venture... I noticed that when I look up water pumps for my Catera, it shows 2 different types; A early design and a late design. Is there any difference that prevents me from using the "cheaper" late design? To me, it looks like the impellers are shaped differently, and would prevent me from using the later one.

Hopefully someone knows about this... this could save me as much as $40.

How much are they?

Over here they are about $35 + S&H

$40-45 for cheapies...

About $75-80 for the ACDelco ones.

And $150 from the Cadillac dealer.

Try dpart1122 on eBay very helpful with genuine GM parts and great prices located in USA.

There the same on all the V6 engines of this type 2.5/2.6/3.0/3.2.

So try to source one for an LA3 3.2 as it might be easier to find the wrong side of the pond  :y

Awesome! I wanted to know that because the CTS's water pump is on sale on a website I buy parts from.
