Title: Coolant level
Post by: mattyvonn on 19 September 2010, 12:44:35
It literally comes on every time I start the car whether it's cold or hot after a long journey, it's always there.

It displays on my dash, however checked it, it's fine, has been fine everyday, after long journeys and everything. The level is spot on where it should be every time I check it.

Is there anything I can check sensor wise?

It certainly doesn't seem to be an issue, would just like to clear it from the dash

Take the lid off the expansion tank and stick your fingers in the top, you will feel a float, push it up and down a few times and spin it on its mount a few times

the float in the header tank is sticking/stuck. You can move the float up & down, it might free it up. Other than that, a new header tank isn't that expensive and looks nice, shiney & new.  ;)  ;) The plug is connected to the underside of the header tank, you could make sure you've a good connection before you condemthe tank.  ;)  :y

Brill, I take a look at the connections, do I have to removel the header tank to get at them?

Yes. Remove the clip at the side and slide the tank towards the engine to romove.  :y
