A cdr 2005 is considered to be the original. Some V6 Specials were supplied with a radio from the facotry, whereas some weren't.
V6 Specials don't have an onborad computer. The screen you see only displays the time and date and would display radio/CD information. It doen't hve any other functions.
I suspect the centre armrest you currently have is the usual police spec one. I'll see if I can find a picture of the standard armrest.

thanks josh,
might be a silly question but if the standard is a 2005 would a 2006 work aswell, and thanks if you can find a piccy of the armrest the car hasnt got one at all at the moment, just guessing but is it the one that that is like in two pieces? i.e the whole lot swivels up but the top part unclips aswell, with the vents in the back, just that there is one of those in my local scrappy it also has a double din radio in it but dont know what model it is, that is why i asked whether any double din omega radio will work, also the screen looks like it should display outside temp? but it is not working :'(
thanks

thanks

Assuming you have a working TID (triple information display) or MID (multi information display) I believe that any CCR or CDR radio will either 'just work' or else be made to work without too much effort.

The NCDC (satnav) units i think would require an immense amount of work to install extra cabling and a graphical display (GID or CID).

HTH

PS make sure you are given the correct 'Radio Code' with the unit or it will cost you as much as it is worth to have the code cracked.
