Started from cold this morning.Running on 3 cyl. emission light comes on.After about half a mile misfire clears and emission light eventually goes out.Any thoughts?

lambdas? that was the issue with mine just try giving them a clean
-
Would this cause the misfire?

No, lambda sensor could not cause a mis-fire, more likely the mis-fire is allowing unburnt fuel into the exhaust which is putting on the emission light.
Mis-fire could be caused by faulty plugs or leads, or maybe the coil pack (I assume one, or more, is fitted to a 2.2?).

I was thinking plugs as the misfire disappeared when it warmed up.

Check the plug wells for oil.

Already checked today.Dry.Replaced rocker gasket 2 weeks ago.

Rules the first cause out then, so it's plugs, rubber boots on the coil pack then coil pack itself in ascending order of cost.

Misfire only at idle.Accelerates fine.

Electrical system is most stressed at idle. Battery, charging system, weak coils or marginal/fouled plugs in my opinion.
Turn all auxiliary devices off like fans, radio, heater, etc., and see if the idle improves for battery and charging system check.
Cheers.

Battery and charging system A.o.k.Looks like change of plugs then coils.
