Can I put my Recaros with no airbags into my mini facelift with side airbags. ?
-
yes, but your putting aesthetics over personal safety? :-?
-
I'd prefer to have no back problems until I die. The standard seats are rubbish compared to the recaros.
Would you refuse to drive a car without side airbags? Of course not.
Do I need to put in a resistor or link to stop the light coming on?

I know nowt about the airbag circuits so can't help there ...
but don't forget to inform your Insurers about the change ... they may well not be happy, they may well be OK .. no idea which ... :(
I DO know however, that if you have an accident where the airbags would be expected to deploy and did not, and they found you had changed them without informing them, your claim would be in serious trouble very quickly .. :(
just my views .. nowt else .. :y :y

May be a bit off beam with this but don,t air bags have a "shelf life"and require replacing after a period of time.
Now not wishing to worry people but would an air bag beyond its shelf life be unlikley to deploy anyway, and as most m/facelifts ..including mine, are now over 10 years old would an insurance company not have issues with an out of date air bag as well?

A volvo 960 that I bought as a stopgap had a sticker in the doorjam saying the bags needed a service after 10 years! Likely costing more than the car was worth.

Hello,
I thought the seats in the mv6 are Recaros? They have Recaro written on the metal bits under the seat anyway. And the car still has side airbags. So why not get some of these fitted to your car, they can then plug into the cars electrics with no issues? They are better than the ones I had in my Vectra sri of old.
