Title: 2.6cd auto
Post by: tony1 on 27 September 2010, 20:41:02
My Y reg auto miggy wont start - have fully checked that battery is fully charged. i know its a bit obvious but can it be anything else but the starter motor? A mechanic I know who has an X type jag has said it could be an inhibitor switch?!? - he said he had replaced a starter motor before on a jag only to find it was the inhibitor switch. Any clues guys??http://images.omegaowners.com/forum/yabbfiles250/Templates/Forum/default/embarassed.gif

hi there
just had similar prob to you miggy would not turn over but i knew i had new cam and crank sensor so ruled out these new coil pack as well.i was thinking starter motor or starter inhibitor went for the latter took it off was full of gunge cleaned with thinners and dried with hairdrier put back on did set up notches on spindle and gear leaver not had any probs for 3 days now quite easy job no need to lower gear box 2 bolts 1you work on blind not to hard, 1 nut easy to see ,undo plug and remove.take cover off unit torx screws 8 if memory serves if gunged up theres your prob i had it off and on in about 1.5 hrs inc clean and dry dont forget  axle stands to support car hope this helps ian   :y :y
