Hi guys! Just replaced front lower wishbone bush(hell of a job) after snapping two bolts, but to my dismay, still have the dreaded omega knocking! Can I drive car with drop links disconnected to see if the knocking is from these? Cheers Dave Rave :'(

I don't know if you can drive with them disconnected or not, I wouldn't. For the price of them i would fit them anyway, I did when i did my w/bones

Thanks Geoff! - did you replace the drop links or just the bush's? .Also did you replace the the complete wishbones? If not, how did you press in the bushes? Regards Dave Rave :-X

The wishbones are easier as a whole unit from Lemforder. I have changed the bushes before but you need a decent press to get them in properly. The droplinks are a unit so the bushes can't be changed seperately. Cheap enough anyway as a whole :y

couple of things, should really have done all four bushes, both front and rear per side, while it was all apart, but fair play though. Only way i would attempt pressing wishbones is to have a set pre pressed, THEN fit them to the car knowing the arm is not bent or a bush split or damaged.
Obviosly a second hand set of wishbones is needed with good steering knuckles first, allgermanparts do heavy duty bush sets, for info.
Knocking depends on the type of knock, jacking both sides onto stands and a good wiggle of all the parts and joints for play should diagnose it.
I would think driving with drop links disconnected would be hilarious, if slightly dangerous, but never tried it, one day maybe. ;D
