Greetings everybody,
I have a problem with drivers electric window
When you press the switch to lower window it goes down ok, when you press again to raise it will go all way up to top except for the last inch, so won't close fully. If you pulse the window up it also stops with an inch to go. When It stops and you press the switch you can hear a click fron the lift motor
I have checked the channels/runners and they are ok. I have even replaced the motor, thinking that was faulty, but still get the same issue. While the motor was out I checked the lifting mechanism and can see no signs of it being bent. I have even adjusted the lifting mechanism to compensate for a possible slipped cog, but still get the same issue.
I'm stumped, is it mechanical or electrical :-/
Has anyone come across a similar problem?
Any help/advice would be apprieciated

Thanks for the reply
in order for the reset to work the window needs to be in the fully up postion, therein lies my problem, my window won't go fully up.

I see your problem. Someone with proper skills will no doubt be along in a minute. :y

Can you assist the window to the top with your hand?
The channels may look OK, but I'd give them a going over with a silicone spray.

Have tried to assist window up but it won't go.

Ok three hands then. Door open one hand outside one inside and the other to press the switch.
Tailor's chalk has also been recommended as a lubricant by one of our most revered members.

;D thanks for that, will try again tomorrow, will report back.

Silicon spray worked for me, just put the window fully down, then sprayed into the channel, and the window went all the way up no trouble.

Update Update Update.
Finally sorted out the problem :) After some checking of the channels I noticed a, peg/pin (inch long) in the front channel which was not present in passenger side channel. I assume it must have broken off/come away from something in the window runner. Managed to get it out and hey presto the window now glides all the way up. So problem solved :y
The only issue I am left with is I had to disconnect the airbag sensor ( as per Haynes) when I was gaining access to the window lifter. I have connected it back up but I now have the Seatbelt/Airbag warning light constantly on, on the dash. How do I reset it?

You may need to get connected to a Tech2 code reader to clear this.
There are a few members on the forum with such an item.
Hang on someone will be along in a minute with more advice.
