Hi all - not had a great day!
Had my 52 plate 2.2dti for about a month so took it to get the air con re filled.
All went well - system has no leaks :D - still no air con :exclamation :question
Upon closer inspection a previous owner has put a shorter drive belt on, avoiding the compressor! Turns out it is jammed solid :'(
To cut a long story short - can someone tell me if the compressor is the same on a v6 of the same age?
Just found one in a local scrap yard - must be worth a punt :-/

IIRC they are all the same. You will need your system draining properly though as it is a criminal offence to knowingly release the aircon gas in to the atmosphere.

Nope the petrol ones are all the same, the diesels are different.
Can your aircon man not pull the clutch assembly and re-bearing it
-
He seemed to think it was beyond repair - not been running for quite some time as it is quite rusty.
So the consensus it that the diesel is different to the petrol?

Yes it is different.
Typical aircon guy, just wants to replace the compresor rather than fix a bearing
