Title: camshaft sensor

what does it do and what are the symptoms for a faulty sensor.

On what engine?

Its used to syncronise injection/spark.

On 4 pots, limits revs to 4.5k, often limps g/b, and makes it a pig to hot start

Never fail on v6, so don't know symptoms

It tells the ECU which pot is firing as you cant get that info from the crank sensor (as it has 2 rotations per cycle on a 4 stroke)

i changed the crankshaft sensor, was just wondering what the cam sensor did.  :y
