My sunroof leaks but not all the time. The water seems to drip from a hole in the metal frame near the glass on the front drivers side of the sunroof, hence me getting wet. It has today got worse and was leaking from the blank panel which hides the sunroof motor. The drains are clear si its definately something to do with where the glass seals to the frame. Also the motor doesnt work properly. i have tried all the usual resets etc but to no avail. basically you have to turn the button and press it in and it will move one stage, then you have to select a different position and press again and it will move another stage and keep goin till its fully open. Is this the control board at fault or the motor..seen some on ebay but dont want to swap one lemon for another :-/

See if this helps, at the same time you can look for the leak.

well ive had a look today to see whats what. i have taken off a piece of plasic trim which is sort of triangular in shape and runs across the width of the sunroof and down either side, the side parts having brushes on. they secure to the glass panel by way of four screws across the front, accessible by sliding the sunroof back about two inches. the water was coming from behing the trim so it looks like its the gflass panel assembly itself that may be leaking where the glass meets the metal. is there a suitable way of fixing this or is it down to silicon sealant or maybe captain tollys creeping crack cure?? wheni get it water tight i can then sort the elecs

Captain Tolley's might just do the job. Would certainly be less messy than silicone. :y

cheers kneepad. will give it a go :)

Had that! Bead of silicone all the way round the glass cured it,

Had a look at this yesterday and when i took it all apart, the black disc which is recommded to clean was missing!!! I think the previous owner had been messing to be honest, anyway a good root through the glovebox of bits founfd the missing bit. Fitted it all back together and it works. Can you get the replacement bulb for the sunroof switch??? Also despite my best efforts, it will close properly and go to tilt as per the dial but i have to twist it to fully open and press/hold the control knob in to get it to open. I've tried holding the knob in at fully open position to get it to learn that point but no luck??

Here's another with a dickey sunroof, but considering what else needs doing, it's pretty low on my list of prioritys.
It mentions in the sunroof fix thread to use "switch cleaner or simular". What I would like to know is would cellulose thinners be ok to use? If not, then what else beside switch cleaner, (I'd rather not spend a few quid on something that I will only use once).
