Title: Noise when reversing slowly
Post by: amba on 18 October 2010, 07:28:21
For a while now I have got a clunking noise when I touch the footbrake when reversing.

It is only coming from the drives side front and is very noticeable when reversing slowly ,and then touching the brake pedal.Doesn,t do it at all in forward motion ,just back wards.

I have removed road wheel and had a good look but unsure what could be the issue.Pads and discs are less than 5k ,and has only started in the last few weeks...can be felt and heard as a definite clonking sound.

Any ideas guys  !

You say the pads were changed recently, in that case it may be worth checking the calliper mounting bolts are still tight, could also be the pads moving slightly...

Check both pad retaining pins are pushed fully home. I found that the pins supplied with my new pads were shorter than the originals? :-/
