Title: wont start damp conditions

2.2 diesel will fire then die then just turn over in wet or damp conditions.just had new glow plugs and battery(top of range)will start in dry but in wet no joy any idears please

Just a guess, but possibly damp is affecting the signal from crankshaft sensor, seems the wiring will give up before the sensor does.  :-/
