Title: annoying sound.

hi all, my car has developed a really annoying sound ( a whine ) from the engine bay. It sounds like its coming from the big pulley area my car is the v6, ive tried lubricating the pulleys but didnt work, it did go when the engine was run at speed then came back. If anyone can shed any light many thanks.

Whip the aux belt off, run for a minute to eliminate water pump, alt etc. If noise is still there might be the cambelt tensioners/idler

not being cheeky but have you tried driving without the wife in the car?  ;D ;D ;D
