Title: Climate Control vacuum pipes facelift
Post by: BigCat on 24 October 2010, 17:14:49
Hi everyone,

Still trying to fix my Climate Control. At the moment I have no heating, although HBV was changed back in spring.

Have determined if we apply vacuum to the HBV then hot water flows and hot air comes out of vents, otherwise nothing.

What I'm after is a schematic of the vacuum pipes and solenoids inside the passenger compartment. Does anyone have one , or is there one on the forum?

Dominic

This would suggest that the coolant pipes on the 'output' side of the HBV are interchanged, and need swapping over, I'm fairly sure.

Agreed.. that is WRONG ... should be No Vac = Heat, Vac = Cold   ie, vac turns OFF the water flow. My guess is the HBV is connected up wrongly .....

To OP. The two spigots on the HBV. Top hose into bulkhead fit to top spigot, bottom bulkhead hose to bottom spigot

Thanks for the replies.

Problem finally sorted out today; Mechanic says he replaced the the solenoid behind the radio, not sure he was being completely honest with me, but he didn't charge me so I'm not complaining.

BTW: not sure what happened to the avatar, it's the same one I've been using for years. I'll reduce it down.
