any ideas why the fuel in my omega 2.2dti is returning to the tank hence a problem starting?
dosent matter if i park it on the flat or on a hill with the front facing down the fuel still seems to return to the tank and have to use easy start to get her going, leak off pipes have been changed recently but puzzled to why this is happening, have heard of non return valve being fitted but where and how.
any ideas most welcome

Right, lets get the rollocking out of the way first! DON'T USE EASY START EVER!!!!! It does more damage than good and will seriously reduce the life of your engine! Now back to the pleasantries..... Have you had the fuel filter off recently? If so check the seal is seated properly, if not then check the seal anyway incase it has split. :y

Before you fit a non return valve, clamp the fuel line before the pump and after the injectors when you stop the engine... Leave the car for a suitable length of time and remove them immediately before starting the engine, if it starts, then a non return valve could help to solve the problem, if it doesn't then the problem isn't going to help.
What makes you believe that the fuel is returning to the tank? Could you have another issue at hand, ie. Failed/Blocked sender pump (assuming 2.2 has one)...
Was it the same issue that led to the leak off hoses being changed???
Non return valve would go before injector 1 of before Fuel pump space depending..

i really aint got a clue, assuming fuel return to tank as wont start without easy start, like i said tried parking it nose down but still the same! i love my omega but she is starting to do my head in, leak off pipes have been done, and car running funny for start up as if air in fuel, will have a look at filter seal but seriously thinking of binning her, got 3 kids and being pestered fo a 7 seater by the missus but love my 22.dti to bits," or used to!" cant get more car for the money in my eyes

It's an anti-lube for want of a better descrition. It basically degreases everything it touches which can severely damage your piston rings & valve seals, it also degrades any rubber it comes into contact with. When the glow plugs died on my TD I used a quick squirt of carb cleaner. It has similar properties to easy start just not as bad for the piston rings.
