Title: Mending leather MV6 bolster cover?
Post by: i260 on 11 November 2010, 00:31:35
Is it possible to get new leather mv6 driver seat covers still?

OR

Is it usually possible to get something that has been a bit neglected tidied up / get a rear bench from an elite and replace the section?

Anybody know a good trimmer in south wales / Bristol area?

whats wrong with what you've got? if it's torn then i don't know but if its faded or just cracked there is repairs that can be done there is a epoxy on the market that you fill gaps with and then sand back and then dyes which will give the colour back again unfortunately never used these products so that's as far as i can help but i have seen it done with good results.

Might be easier to get a set of second hand seats from a breaker ??

IMHO repairs to leather don't last that long/look that good unless you pay really top dollar for them.

I wouldn't try the repair with adhesive. I'd look in your Yellow pages and find an upholsterer. Any one of them worth anything will be able to repair a car seat. I have taken this route several times in the past and always had success. Dependent on the cost quoted to repair it it may then be cheaper to source a whole second hand seat
