Can anyone help please,i,ve bought an X reg 2.2 CD Omega and would like to know if its got a cambelt or chain please, sorry if this is a silly question only i,m pretty new to Omegas apart from previously owning an early diesel model, thanx

If petrol then cambelt... If you don't know the history, change it and the water pump ASAP. Actually, I'd change them anyway for peace of mind!
If a smelly oil burner (diseasel) then IIRCC it's a chain.
Hope that helps

If you post up your location in your profile, you may find that there is a local mechanic from the forum close to you> if its the camblet or something like that they tend to be a lot more reasonable than a local garage. (If it is a 2.2 then make sure you have the water pump done at the same time) and welcome to the forum :y
