Title: Straight through pipe to replace cat
Post by: geoffr70 on 14 November 2010, 18:38:41
Hello, can anyone see any issues if I get some straight through pipes made to replace the cats? I would replace the cat for the MOT though.

Could the cats degrade due to lack of use? How would I store them? I cannot remember if the cats are on the same section as the downpipe, does anyone know? If they aren't it'd make it so much easier! Thanks

Apart from killing the planet? :D

On a 3.0 the cats are after the down pipes, under the floor.
A 3.2 will have precats which, I imagine, would be on the down pipes. You may get issues with the e.m.l. / emissions light on.

I doubt the cats will degrade through lack of use.
You should store them carefully, in case the scrap man has them!!

If I wanted to save the planet I wouldn't be driving a 3 litre beast! Hahahaha!

Thanks brikhead!
