As above would a 3litre mv6 gearbox fit a 2.5td omega. Need to know asap... thanks

Automatic or manual?
If Automatic then yes as long as you swap the bellhousing over - search for 'AR35' and 'AR25' and you're bound to find posts on that.

No it won't.
All the Getrag 240s used in Omega have integral bellhousings - that means there's no bellhousing to swap over.

it is actually possible to swap over the entire gearbox casing - the only part that comes off, but it requires a large oven to do properly and the mainshaft and countershaft end-float re-setting (selective shims) aferwards.

The bellhousings do come off!
many people have done this no problem :y
Bellhousing and TC swap, and your away :y
must be done carefully, with the box vertical.
