Title: would these alloys fit on a mig
Post by: mathewst on 01 December 2010, 14:28:44
Data from the alloys is 5x110 7/j x 15" H2 (ET 33)
Tyres on the alloy currently are 205/65/15
Can they fit on the mig?

http://www.alloywheels.com/search.asp?numrecordposition=1&strSize=all&strkeywords=5x110&strSort=Low&Make=Vauxhall&Model=Omega

suggests the following "make : Vauxhall      Model : Omega      Year : 94>      PCD : 5x110      Offset : 35 to 45      Bore : 65.1      Fittings : B 12x1.5"

which suggests NO, they wont fit. However, just because they're not designed to fit, doesnt meant they wont. I imagine the issue is how close to the damper/strut the inner rim and tyre gets.

http://www.driverstechnology.co.uk/wheel-offset.htm

states the "if you put a wheel on the same hub with a bigger offset, the wheel will sit further inside the wheel arch because the wheels bolting face will have to move further in to meet the hub.

Alternatively if it has a smaller offset it will sit further out from the wheel arch."

so ET33 is smaller than the 'minimum' of ET35, so the wheel will stick out slightly further than its supposed to. (think Ive got that right!) If you wanted to put a car in production with that hub/wheel combo, it wouldnt get type approval, however, one bloke doing that in on his car in Croatia? I dont think that'd be a problem.

All credit goes to google.  :y

Thanks Diamond, I was looking at some wheels, they are probably from vectra so was hoping they would be a straight swap

the tyres that are official on my facelift omega(opel) are written in the brief and are these:
225/55 R16
205/65 R15
195/65 R15
235/45 R17

From these the best in my opinion for comfort and ride height are 225/55 R16 or if you can find 225/65 R16, but these are for comfort. The rim size isn't written but my 17" summer tyres are 7j et 39

I've got 215x50x17 on my estate which I believe came off a Vectra.
