Just bought some new KYB front springs for the DTi Elite and despite being the correct part numbers RC1539 and RC1540 when you stand them together there is about 1.5 - 2cm difference.
They are stamped with the part no on the spring so aren't the wrong springs in the right boxes. I'm going to send them back but as they are stamped up correctly and match with my order i'm concerned they may reject the refund....

taller one drivers side mate, they are like this as the car usualy only has the driver in it, when driver in the car is dead level i think you will find :y

I agree, my new gen vaux ones that I put on my cdx were the same, was given the same answer by the dealer.
makes sense, how many landrovers do you see with just the driver in, and its leaning to the right ;D ;D

Agreed, this has came up before on the forum. The longer spring goes on the drivers side.

depending on the size of your missus you may have to fit the longer one to the passenger side like i did :-X :-X :-X : ;D ;D ;D

so does that mean that when the driver is not in car the drivers side will be higher than the passenger side....

pretty much no cars have the same corner weight on left-hand and right-hand front corners

So for geometric set up, the drivers seat really should have weight in it???

Its not just the driver thats counter acted by the longer spring, theres the steering box on that side of the car (weighs a fair bit) fuel tank is offset to that side, and those of us lucky enough to have a cd changer in the boot full of cd's ;D ;D
so the drivers side is probably a fair bit heavier than the passenger side.

Battery, pas pump, ac pump etc on pas side, exhaust on pas side. :-?
Plus my fuel tank spends all it's time on empty ;D

maybe vaux thought it would be mainly middle aged men with beer bellies that would buy the mig, so the longer spring was to counter act that ;D ;D
in my dealer info book for the omega, it states the omega was aimed at 35-50 year olds.

Excellent, I can keep mine for another 13 years then before i'm too old according to GM! ;D
