So removed snow from car and a small stonechip that I didn't know I had has spread full width of screen. (insurance covered but rang for price out of interest £480 plus vat, solar reflective and rain sensor)
Rubber door trim along sills came off with doors when opened, both sides, doh! mucky fingers cliping that back on.
More wierdly though cruising at about 50 and TC light came on and lost power, was able to do about 10mph in D. pottered along for a few hundred yards until traffic has passed (there's nowhere to pull off without losing a bumper!)
then put it into neutral and turned off ignition restarted and it's fine, what's that all about?
I understand that when the outside temp is reading -16.5 deg wierd things are likely but I only wanted to go about 5 miles!! >:(

Ouch! Just as well your insurance covers it. Probably have to pay some excess. Shouldn't affect no claim bonus. :y

Aye £65 excess but not to worried about that compared to screen price!

Do pedal trick as in maintenance guides to see if you've any T Cs in ECU

Codes:
0430 and 0420 which I knew about, supermarket petrol caused it!
but I now also have 1500 and then a pause and 1500 again? I've checked and double checked and it's definately the same code twice.
Any ideas?

'P1500 Electronic Throttle Control Motor Failure'

Ok, so what's that and what's it got to do with the TC? :-?

no idea why the TC but the code refers to the throttle motor - self explanatory I would think :y the bit at the front of your plenum chamber where the throttle butterfly lives. Failing that, the actual accelerator pedal end.
-
I'd resolve the known issue before jumping in with a new throttle...

Agreed, but not to worried about the emission associated codes at mo as i have cam cover gaskets and breather work to do as soon as the ice age has finished and I'm sure the codes are a result of crap fuel. (or o2 sensors need moving)
But I was interested as to what may have caused the TC episode.

Was it particularly slippery?
Might be worth getting the ABS ECU to relearn the wheel sizes (speed up to 60, let it overrun down to 40, back up to 60, let it overrun back down to 40)

Sounds similar to what happened to my TC yesterday, if I have got a bad earth somewhere that ties up with some of the speed signal problems I've been having.
How do you go about finding a bad earth?
Dave.
