my P reg 2.5TD doesn't produce anymore than a slight draft through the de-misters, even when set on demist. The fan is running and shifts loads of air through the eye-level vents (when set to normal running) and even out the vents that blow onto the rear seats. The fan makes load of noise on demist but it sounds as though something is blocked??
Thanks

Check the vac hoses under the bonnet - the system relies on a decent vac :)

eer ok, I'm aware of vacuum hoses (renewed them)with regard to EGR valves on 2.5TD.
Vacuum hoses for heater that's big 'DOH' from me. I can't see an 'How to' for that

Sorry to be direct, but can any-one help me with the location of the vacuum hoses that work the heater unit, perhap even photos etc. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks martinH

i have a similar problem... if its raining outside when i direct the vents to wind-shield demisting, that is when mist starts to build up.. if i don't do it it mists very slowly but when i try to demist it builds upo really really fast.
this is with eco on.. with eco off no p[roblem :)

First the layout.
The direction of airflow from the heater is done by moveable flaps powered by vacuum servos. The vacuum is supplied by a hose that feeds through the bulkhead adjacent to the water pipes that feed the heater, ie just below/beside the brake reservoir. On most models, this vacuum comes via a small tank/reservoir tucked in the opposite corner, in the box with the pollen filter. I believe some specs did not have this tank.
However, if you can change from screen to face to feet back to screen etc (engine must be running or vac reervoir is quickly drained) then you are getting vacuum to the heater.
That is as far as my knowledge goes, however my experience is much the same as yours - the output from the feet and face is strong but the screen vent is poor in comparison to other cars I have had. Doubt it would lift a sheet of A4 paper even on max fan.
I just put it down to the wide diffuser removing all the power even though there is still a large volume of air.
Maybe someone else can offer more help on that.
