Title: No heater bypass valve
Post by: dpruk on 11 December 2010, 16:50:34
I have a 1996 omega 2.5 and cant find the heater bypass valve. Had the wiper scuttle off followed pipes ect but its not there. There is a little electric pump by the header tank with one of the pipes going to the heater matric. Did some ages of the omega not have a heater bypass valve?

from memory....

no aircon/climate control means no HBV

it is hellish to locate however ( on a V6) right behind the block - sort of a starship enterprise thing with a vac pipe on the top as well

why do you want to find it?

Apparently there is a winter pack that you can get which means there will be another electric pump as you describe, sat under the exp tank. They seem to be more common on the mv6. I thought the same when I got mine. I was just a little lazy in looking for the hbv, but it was there, in the place it should be
