I remember saving my pocket money up for weeks (I got half a crown per week, twelve and a half pence in new money)to buy the gold DB 5 James Bond car it cost me ten shillngs and six pence.I was made up with it. The same model in good condition boxed fetches several hundred pound now.
AND MY MUM THREW MINE OUT!!! :o :o :o
-
Matchbox was my favorite..Parents buy them frequently (was expensive at the time)..
Possibly just for that I have this interest for cars whole out my life..
-
Just spent a happy hour or so boring the family with cries of "I had one of those." or "I always wanted one of those." ;D
Don't you just wish you had kept them in the boxes like your Mum told you to, You'd be a bloody millionaire nowadays.
-
Mom gave them to neighbours children ..not one left :(

I used to have one of those Evil Knievel's that I used to put on the stand a wind it up at the side then it would fire off pulling wheelies... Sister phoned up well before Christmas think it was just after Evil had died, there was one on e bay going for around £300 :o
So I was on the phoned to me Dad "Is it still up the loft Dad in that box of toys?"
"No mate, through that lot out years ago!"
In that box was also the James Bond Aston Martin with the guns in the lights, and ejector seat.... also the lotus that turns into a submarine..... all gone the same way.........The Tip ::)
Typical

Being the last of 5 kids meant that most of my toys only had 3 wheels, and were 'well used', but on the upside, I probably had more toys than my older brothers, as I had all their hand-me-downs.
I did object to having my sister's toys though....
